Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leader Raila Odinga has not declared he will run for presidency in 2017, her daughter Winnie has said.
When Winnie was asked what she thinks of her fathers Presidential ambition in 2017 during an interview yesterday at a local television station, Mr Odinga's last borne said her father had not declared his candidature for the election.
Shs stated that the issue about for Raila contesting is not about being in power but fighting for social justice.
“My father has been on the fore front fighting for justice and equality and that is why I will support him when he declares his candidature,” said Winnie.
She stated that Raila has shown good leadership and only means well for the people of Kenya and that the country has suffered simply because of poor leadership.
“So long as Kenya remains a developing country, we will always be hungry for better leadership. And in 2017 youth have shown that they are craving for it,” said Winnie.
She stated that there is need to create more awareness on the importance of voter registration so that youth can register in numbers.
“People do not trust the electoral process in Kenya. There is need to restore the lost confidence in institutions such as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission,” she said.
