Kisumu county governor Jack Ranguma has been asked to prioritize water projects in the area as a means of bettering people’s lives.
Samson Ogolla an aspiring member of County Assembly Migosi ward in Kisumu has challenged Ranguma to first of all tackle water problem in the county which has been a challenge for quite some time.
“Water is a basic necessity for everyone, we know other projects are important but water cannot be ignored at all because it is life,” said Ogolla.
Ogolla who was speaking to this writer on Monday morning via phone said that all Kisumu residents do have aces to clean water and Ranguma should have treated it as an immediate goal the moment he was elected into office.
“It is a pity that even after three years of devolution we still have our people going without water. This is an issue that should have been handled ages ago,” said Ogolla.
Ogolla said that people in the informal settlements areas of Obunga, Nyawita and Nyamasaria are the most affected ones, as accessing clean water for them is a major challenge.
He urged the residents to elect leaders who will ensure their needs are met within the shortest time of being in the office.
