Governor Jack Ranguma has defended himself against allegations that he has refused to constitute a city land management board.
Ranguma said during an interview with this writer that the process of forming the city board had begun.
He was reacting to Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang Nyong’o’s claims faulting him for failing to constitute a Kisumu city management board and county land management board.
The two boards are crucial in the management of resources in the county.
Prof Nyong’o had warned that failure to inaugurate a county lands management board by Governor Ranguma was putting the vast land in the region at risk of being grabbed.
Ranguma however, stated that the positions have already been advertised by the county Public Service Board whose details are clear on the county government website.
“The same applies to the county lands management board which is going to be inaugurated soon,” Ranguma said.
He however, stated that Kisumu residents are more concerned with the way Senator Nyong’o is advancing interests of Kisumu County in the Senate rather than his personal interest to become governor come 2017.
