For those who plan to give state of the art treat to their valentines, Kisumu has raised the bar and will be offering a world class way of expressing love.
One hour helicopter ride across Lake Victoria and a private lunch at Maboko Island in the Winam Gulf are just some of the rare treats that Kisumu's 2016 Valentine Couple of the Year is set to receive courtesy of Acacia Hotel.
The treat dubbed 'Lakeside Romance' is the first of its kind by the country's hospitality industry with the aim of promoting tourism and investment in Lake Victoria.
According to Duncan Mwangi, the General Manager, Acacia Premier, a couple which grabs the single chance offered by the hotel will get the royal treat.
Mwangi said the hotel will host the couple for two nights at its only presidential suit as well as providing services of a private butler and chef, private guitarist, complementary couple massage and other gifts from the lady.
"We only have one presidential suit so first come first serve basis will be applied in picking the couple, but we will not turn down other patrons who miss the chance, as we have other exiting valentine packages as well," said Mwangi.
The two day entertainment and treat set for the February 13 and 14 is a competitive chance which will see the couple pay Sh500,000 in what the hotel management described as raising the bar of hospitality industry.
"This is an appreciation of the country as a tourism and investment destination through a unique out of town, quiet and romantic experience. The hotel will also offer other creative, exiting packages for those looking for a one-of-a-kind Valentine's Day experience," said Mwangi.
He added: "We want to ensure everyone access comfortable packages within their means and have the best experience."
