Residents and traders along the Koleni-Kaptembwa road have urged the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to erect speed bumps in the area.

The residents claim the 500m stretch from the main Nakuru-Eldoret highway is increasingly becoming risky as bodaboda operators and other motorists drive recklessly.

"Just the other day a woman was knocked down and seriously injured by a speeding cyclist. We request NTSA to erect speed bumps," James Ombogi said.

Annette Nyambura, a grocer along the highway said it has become dangerous to cross the road.

"There are so many people using this road. However, making a mere cross to either side has become dangerous due to the speeding cars," she claimed.

Her sentiments were echoed by Paul Menya who claimed that accidents along the road are being reported every day.

"The traffic authority should mount speed bumps to control the situation," Menya said.
