Parents and children from Nyanko Mixed Secondary School in Bobaracho ward have now raised concern over the school's projects that have stalled for more than 5 months despite the fact that the school received donations from the area Member of Parliament Richard Tong’i.

According to some of the parents interviewed by this Hivisasa writer, the school was supposed to build at least 5 classrooms and 2 dormitories after the area MP gave them money for the project but since then only the foundation has been laid.

Led by Monibi Oenga, they said that the construction committee has so far not done anything and they would like the area Member of Parliament to make follow up and ensure that the project continues and the monies are not squandered.

He decried that the current condition of the classroom and dormitory is not conducive yet the students are expected to report back to school on January 2016.

“The ongoing construction at the school has not fully satisfied the expectations of the parents, teachers and locals at large and that’s why we would like explanations as to why the project has stalled,” he added.

Upon contacting the construction committee chairperson Doulas Atuya, he said that the project's progress has been slow because of the ongoing wrangles between the committee and the construction committee.

“We assure the resident that the project will be commence soon and that the money that the MP gave us is safe in the schools accounts,” he added
