Residents from Rhonda and Kaptembwa regions have been advised against rushing to accident and crime scenes.

Area police boss Patrick Makau sounded the warning, adding that such residents were greatly putting their lives at risk by rushing to scenes that were likely to cause fatalities.

Speaking on Thursday, Makau said there was need to educate the public against rushing to dangerous accident scenes noting that such was the case when a petroleum pipeline burst in Rhonda about a week ago.

"Do not get over excited to a point that u start rushing into areas that could easily put your life at risks. Learn to be careful enough," he warned.

He added that were it not for the swift response of the police during that incident then some residents could have scooped the gushing fuel which could have triggered an inferno in the area.

He also noted that the public milled around a fire incident scene at Mukarafuu in Stella estate last Saturday, an act he said was very dangerous.

Makau advised the Kenya Pipeline Company to always monitor the area to avoid similar incidents.
