Celebrated Mombasa musician who recently moved to Nairobi, recently released a teaser on YouTube of what seems to be her new song "Sweet Love" featuring Tanzanian musician Diamond.
The teaser shows the duo singing about people who need to mind their own business when it comes to other people's relationships; with Akothee acting out as a lady who is in love with a guy but outsiders seem to interfere with the relationship.
Fans across Mombasa have expressed their views regarding the teaser, with some saying they are eagerly waiting for it.
" I just love the sound already, I look up to Akothee so much and this collabo with Diamond is clearly a hit," Grace Akinyi said.
Akothee took to Facebook to post her appreciation of the massive support she has received both locally and across the East African region.
"The love for my #SWEETLOVE Akothee ft. Diamond is overwhelming, thanks for the support, Tanzania nimeshukuru @diamondplatnumz @babutale @sallam_sk" Posted Akothee on Facebook.
According to Akothee's facebook page, the song and video are set to be released on Friday 13th January 2016.
Guess we just have to wait like everybody else for what seems like it is going to be a hit.
