Residents of Rongai sub-county are likely to prevail upon the county government to give more priority to roads as Governor Kinuthia Mbugua pitches camp in the area for the next two days for the Gavana Mtaani initiative.
Last December, the residents held demonstrations against their MP Raymond Moi accusing him of failing to renovate the Ol Rongai-Gwagitau road.
They lamented that the road had caused several accidents apart from complicating travels for expectant women in the area.
However, the focus is now likely to shift to the county outreach programme spearheaded by Mbugua and his administration, as they kick off the fifth leg beginning Wednesday.
The programme which Mbugua defended as seeking to offer residents practical solution and offer them firsthand feel of how the government works, has overseen various projects including roads, education and health being launched in the other sub-counties that have played host to the initiative.
"We hope they will commission several projects especially roads as they did in Molo and Njoro sub-counties," said Tom Njiraini a resident.
