Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo has declared war on crime in the area saying that the locals must live in peace and conduct their businesses without interference.
The MP said that she will ensure security is heightened in all the parts of the constituency and insisted that no criminal should be left to walk free after committing crime.
The legislator said that security comes first in all aspects so that members of the public can feel safe while conducting their daily businesses.
Speaking when she inspected the ongoing construction of the administration police residential houses in Membly, the MP said that the Kenya Police and OCPD modern residential houses had been completed and were ready for occupation.
She added that the affairs of the security men should be well taken care of as they spend sleepless nights working 24 hours to ensure the security of the residents is guaranteed.
She also directed an immediate crackdown on all criminal gangs in Ruiru by police.
The MP earlier donated four motorbikes to the area police, which she said will help them reach distant areas and to conduct night patrols.
“These motorbikes should be properly utilised by the security officers. They will help you enhance security by intensifying patrols mostly at night and also reach areas that vehicles have not been able to get to,” she said while handing over the motorbikes to the area OCPD Isaac Thuranira.
