Ruiru Traffic Base Commander Mr Daniel Sambi has asked pedestrians to use foot bridges when crossing roads.
The base commander observed that many pedestrians ignore foot bridges and pedestrians paths which have been earmarked for them.
He observed that cases of pedestrians being knocked down by vehicles for crossing roads at undesignated places are on the increase.
Addressing residents at Ruiru town on Thursday, Sambi; “We are concerned as enforcers of traffic laws on the number of pedestrians being knocked down by vehicles for crossing at undesignated areas.”
He warned that pedestrians who flout traffic rules will be arrested and arraigned to court, adding the police will be conducting patrols to arrest offenders.
The commander asked all pedestrians to adhere to road regulations.
He indicated that road carnage will reduce if the rules are followed strictly.
