Nakuru County Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto has exuded confidence the Jubilee will carry the day in Kericho Senatorial by-election. Rutto said Jubilee’s youthful Aaron Cheruiyot will beat Kanu’s Paul Sang hands down in the March 7 poll.

“We are sure Jubilee will carry the day here. We ask the people to turn up in large numbers and stamp Jubilee’s win,” Rutto said.

The Deputy Governor was speaking in Kericho on Friday when he accompanied his boss Kinuthia Mbugua on a campaign trail for Cheruiyot at Londiani and Kedowa towns.

The by-election was prompted by the nomination of Charles Keter to the cabinet to hold the energy slot.

It is a contest that has seen a resurgence of Kanu under the brigade of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Governor Isaac Ruto.

The race has in fact narrowed down to a two horse race between Jubilee’s Aaron Cheruiyot and Kanu’s Paul Sang and to an extent, it is a battle between Deputy President William Ruto and a couple of his party’s rebels.
