A security expert in Nakuru has offered to train sex workers self-defense tactics in Nakuru.

Tutah Richard who is an expert in security based in Nakuru has made the offer following reports that another sex worker may have been killed in Nakuru. She could be next in a series of sex workers who have been murdered in inexplicable circumstances in Nakuru.

“It is not that I support what they are doing but let’s not forget they are still human beings. We may condemn the act but these sisters still need to live,” said Tutah in a phone interview on Thursday evening.

He added that what the women needed was some basic self-defense tactics and also some tools of trade that would buy them time to raise alarm or escape in case of an attack. He further said that had the attacks been on other women apart from sex workers, the public would by now be taking to the streets.

“Whatever they do for a living, they’re still our sisters and I am willing to train them for free. All I need is someone to mobilize a few of them and I’ll start training them. I am told they have a mother superior and so I know they are organised in a group which will make it easier to mobilize them,” said Tutah.
