Parents have been urged to make a follow up on whether their children attend class or not especially during this period when schools have reopened.

Speaking at his office Kangundo, Deputy County Commissioner Samuel Njora has raised concern because of the rise of the number of school- children roaming the streets of Kangundo market.

Njora has further claimed that parents are not living up to the expectations and making a follow up to know whether their children are attending classes or not where he pointed out that the education sector requires corporation from all stakeholders i.e. parents and teachers.

Njora also cautioned that there will be a search at Kangundo market to ensure that all school-going children who are not in school are upheld and put to custody and their parents arrested and arraigned to court for negligence.

"We will start a thorough search at Kangundo market and all school-going children who are not in school we'll take them to custody and look for their parents to have them arrested," Njora said.

"Parents must be responsible and ensure that their children go to school since the government made education free," he further added.

However, the teachers have not being spared whereby Mr Njora has requested them to make a follow up on the students who don't attend classes and call their parents to get to the root cause as to why their children are missing classes.
