Residents from Kiamitengi and Matutu villages in Gesima ward have urged their Member of County Assembly to take the motion to the county assembly to have more allocations of funds in the area to facilitate the construction of roads which are impassible.

According to them, Matutu to Karantini road which is under the county government is now in a pathetic situation which has made them to lose business  in the area.

Led by their elder Nyakawana Orogo, they said that they want the county government to allocate more funds to wards which will enable the rehabilitation of the roads.

“We have children who go to school and who need to be transported with ease so that they arrive on time; we urge the county government through our Member of County Assembly Kennedy Nyameino to construct these roads so that come January, our transportation problems will be a thing of the past,” said Nyakwana.

Simeon Obiri, a resident said that they the youths from Gesima can also be employed to help with the construction of the ward roads as one way of empowering them.

“We have youths who are currently idle and can be employed as part of the man power during the construction period,” said Obiri.
