Thika town is among the fastest growing towns in Kenya due to its enhanced business opportunities and industrialisation, the Thika Districts Business Association (TDBA) chairman Mr. Waweru Nderitu has said.

Speaking in Thika town on Monday morning during a briefing on the Thika trade fair that is going to take place later this week, the chairman said that with the many investors flocking the town , Thika might become the next city.

He said that the superhighway has resulted to investors coming into the town since it has eased traffic and hence luring business enterprises to start up in the area in order to create employment for the Thika residents.

The chairman further said that with the recent security patrols both during the day and night, there has been an assurance to business owners that their valuables are in good hands since security is well catered for.

He also called upon the government to ensure that they fast-track the rehabilitation of roads so that they can ease the traffic congestion in the town which has recently been overwhelming motorists due to closure of the 2 main roads in the town.

Nderitu has called on traders and members of public to turn out for the trade fair which is set to commence on Friday this week and continue up to the weekend.

He said that there is a high expectation of a successful event since the highest registration of stands by the traders has been recorded this year as compared to the previous years.
