A teacher in Kikuyu was arrested on Wednesday with leaked KCPE examination papers.
The teacher from Rose Academy in Ondiri was arrested with a phone with pictures of the examination paper.
A teacher invigilating the exam, Arnold Wanjohi told this reporter that they suspected the teacher had wanted to leak the exam too the pupils.
Wanjohi said the teacher called the candidates to one of the classes shortly before the exam commenced.
"I just called the police officer who was guarding the station and I told him to go investigate what was going on, only to find the teacher leaking some questions which were in his mobile phone," said Wanjohi.
Confirming the incident, Kikuyu OCPD Mutune Maweu said the suspect was arrested and the phone taken from him.
He said the teacher had pictures of the exam to be done on Wednesday and they had not found out how that happened.
The police boss said the suspect was in police custody as investigations are underway to know how the suspect got the exam pictures.
He said this was the only incident reported to the police regarding cheating in the ongoing in Kikuyu.
"I want to warn teachers and even parents who have intentions of leaking the exam by whatever means that it is a crime and you will be arrested and charged," said Maweu.
