Residents of Nakuru town have expressed fear over the new outbreak of cholera in the county.
The residents and a section of traders claimed that they feared for their lives especially if reports of cholera cases in Gilgil and parts of Mogotio in the neighbouring Baringo County are anything to go by.
"I fear for the worst now that cholera has decided to revisit us. Last time the effects were so devastating and there could be a repeat," argued Tom Namu from Kaptembwa.
"It's shocking that the cholera pandemic has reemerged at this critical moment when the festivities are also knocking. It may be more deadly if not addressed urgently," said Mama Sammy a grocer at the Wakulima market in Nakuru town.
The residents also challenged the county government to put measures in place to help address the issue arguing that if left unattended then they risked contracting the dangerous and highly contagious disease.
