Nakuru , like all other counties is diverse, hosting almost all the 42 ethnic groups.

So diverse is it that foreigners too call it home. These foreigners have come from far and wide, with a majority coming from Europe and Asia.

Indians

They need no introduction. They have been here so long that all speak Kiswahili with some even speaking native tongues such as Kikuyu. They are businessmen to the core. Hardly a day will go by without seeing at least 10 of them going about their businesses like the rest of us.

Chinese

They have not been here for as long as the Shahs, neither are they as many. However, you are likely to spot a few of them here in there. Most of them are here temporarily for work purposes. They are the architects and the civil engineers constructing our buildings and roads.

Europeans and Americans

Some hail from France, Germany, England and the US. They are here for various reasons; studies, business and also vacations.

These friends of ours live among us and are even our neighbours at home. They go to school with our kids and are Vegans in every sense of the word. However, we are yet to get used to the sight of these foreigners and they still turn heads when they walk past us.

They love our county for the people the food, hospitality and weather. To the visiting wazungus we say Karibu and to those here to stay we wish you all the best in whatever endevours you engage in.
