Thika Township MCA Kennedy Mwangi has called on Kiambu county government to consider supporting disabled people in Thika town.

Mwangi said disabled people should be treated just like other people and that they should also be given jobs.

“Let us treat them as our brothers and sisters because they are part of us. You don't have to harass anyone because he was born disabled, support them,” said Mwangi.

He called on disabled people to get something they can do to earn a living, despite the challenges they face.

The MCA however decried existence of con men and women who pretend to be disabled and lie on the streets begging for help.

Mwangi was speaking to the residents of Ngoingwa on Sunday.
