Three people were on Monday morning charged before a Kisumu law court for robbery with violence.

The three Stephen Mondo, Paul Okwech and Stephen Orina denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Hellen Odawa for the offence allegedly committed on January 10, 2016, in Kisumu.

The prosecution had asked the court to remand the three on the grounds that investigations are still ongoing and if released they might interfere with the investigation.

Odawo remanded them for one week until next Monday when they will make a formal bail application.

According to the prosecution, the accused invaded the house of Martin Ombora, a resident of Nyamasaria, where they robbed him.

They are alleged to have stolen a television set, two laptops and a mobile phone.

They broke the door to gain access into the house where the complainant was sleeping.

The matter was reported to the police the following day where investigations were launched leading to the arrest of the three.
