TNA leaders in Nakuru County have been challenged to get out and educate residents on the importance of registering as voters in the ongoing massive voter registration exercise.
Nakuru TNA chairman Samwel Githaiga called on all elected and aspiring leaders to spend most of their time on the ground mobilizing residents who have not registered to do so.
Githaiga reminded the leaders that they can only be elected by people who have registered and called on them to make their people know the importance of registering.
Speaking on Monday evening at is office, Githaiga said that Nakuru County will register the most voters if only the leaders will get involved in the process.
“The exercise has started and all I want is to tell our leaders to go out in the villages and mobilize people to register in their numbers. If all leaders can get on the ground then I can assure you that Nakuru will register so many people,” said Githaiga.
He added, “Some people don’t know the need of registering as voters but if the leaders can do the mobilization then the ignorant ones can understand why they need to get that voters card.”
