Teachers and students at Boruma secondary school in Birongo ward has a reason to smile after Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong’I donated over 100 lockers.

According to the legislator, this comes barely after he was approached by the school management with the request.

“I am always committed towards improving the education status of schools across Kisii County and above all those schools that are within my area,” he said.

He called upon both the national and county governments to ensure that all schools are well equipped with learning materials so that the performance also can go up.

“In the past we have seen many schools in the region perform poorly and am sure it’s because of lack of proper facility and there was need for proper improvement,” said.

The school’s principal, Edwin Matara, said the students have been sharing lockers due to the shortage and he is sure that they will be comfortable in their daily learning process.

“We thank the MP for donating the lockers and we call upon the government to continue improving the education sector because it’s key in raising the society,” he added.
