Four girls who were among the top performers in Nyamira County in the recently announced KCPE results have a reason to smile after area Women Representative announced that she will sponsor their education till university level.

The four, Dorcus Nyamoita of Nyaore Mixed Primary School, Daphin Ongoi of Enchoro DEB, Mary Moraa of Nyaronge Primary School and Jackline Perry of Magura Primary scored 426, 412 ,404 and 401 marks respectively in the 2015 exams.

Speaking at Mochenwa market on Thursday, Mrs Alice Chae said her office would be keen to support students from vulnerable families and said many more would soon be revealed after her office carries out the audit on their performances.

“I have already identified those girls because they come from vulnerable backgrounds and public schools. That doesn’t mean it’s the end of my work. I will look for more because I know there are more who needs the support,” she said.

Chae said her office would give first priority to orphaned students before extending the same support to other needy pupils who excelled.

“In fact the four girls are special cases because they are orphans. I am giving them the first priority but that doesn’t mean will not support those who are needy,” she said.

Chae urged the beneficiaries to use the opportunity and excel in their future tests to be relevant to the community by giving back to the society.

“And those beneficiaries must work hard to ensure that all goes well with their studies. We expect them to excel and give back to the society in future,” added Chae.
