Traders at the Weavers Market in Nakuru West have urged the county government to expand the market to ease trade and movement.
Speaking on Wednesday, the traders decried the state of the market, saying it had become difficult for them to conduct business normally due to congestion brought about by people and vehicles.
"Huge vehicles which use the main road that divides this market into two and cyclists have made it very difficult for us traders to engage in our affairs effectively. We therefore appeal to the county government to come to our aid and expand the market," Zipporah Njoki argued.
Her sentiments were echoed by Ruth Kamande who said it had become difficult for them to get customers as a result of congestion.
Ms Kamande added that they were equally at risk of contracting dust related infections owing to the poor state of the market which is full of dust.
