A Court in Kisumu on Friday postponed the hearing of a case in which two people were charged with robbery with violence.

Moses Omondi and Saumu Hadija were accused of violently robbing Bahati Simiyu at his shop located in Tuskeys Shopping Mall at Kisumu Central Business District.

According to the prosecution, the two jointly with others who were not before the court while armed, robbed Mr Simiyu off Sh148,000 and a Techno Y53 mobile phone costing Sh5,000.

The incident happened at around 7pm in November 2015.

As opposed to Ms Hadija, Omondi faced two counts of charges in which he was charged with robbery with violence and that of handling a stolen mobile phone.

The accused who were on Thursday brought before the court were not able to take plea.

The two however, pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were arraigned before Senior Resident Magistrate Phillis Shinyada.

They were released on a bond of Sh100,000 pending the mentioning of the case on March 24 and hearing on April 16.

The two had on Thursday appeared before Margistrate Ajeline Adawo for the mentioning of their charges but were not able to take pleas because the trial judge handling their matter was out on official duties.
