Residents of Gachatha village in Gatundu North have been cautioned against exchanging money anyhow after 13,000 fake money was recovered ready to be deposited in an Mpesa shop in Gachatha town.

The area assistant chief Martin Gitau revealed that two men suspected to have been conducting the illegal job were arrested alongside with the cash which they were about to deposit.

Speaking at Gachatha village on Thursday, Gitau noted that the two had both fake and original money which they were using to either buy small items from shop while depositing others.

Speaking at the same scene, Gachathi AP post corporal Joseph Ndegwa said the two will be charged.

He warned the youth against engaging in crimes citing that the government was committed to fight crime.
