The Catholic church secretary in Kisii county Christopher Osinde has challenged all university institutions in Kenya to introduce entry examinations for all students who qualify to take their degrees at the university level.
According to him, some of the students attain good grades which qualify them to university level through the examination leakages.
Speaking to this writer on Thursday in Kisii town, Osinde said that universities should close their doors with regards to quacks which will give a fair chance to those who really deserve it.
“We have already seen how the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (KCSE) faired on across the country with different cases of cheating reported. This means that many of the students are going to qualify to university level and yet they are not qualified,” said Osinde.
He also challenged the EACC to investigate the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) in order to clearly find out how the examinations were leaked.
“We have to know who was the main distributor of the examination leakages to the students across the country, which consequently means that the EACC should investigate KNEC in order to prove the transparency of the institution to Kenyans,” noted osinde.
Osinde further challenged KNEC to find ways of curbing the cheating menace so as to stop the incident from recurring again next year.
