A section of Kibera parents have urged university students to be careful in all that they do.
The parents say most of the students take life as a joke and think all things happening around them are not to be taken seriously. The parents complained that some of the students engage in bad habits like drugs due to peer pressure. They say the students misuse every opportunity they get from school.
This comes after two students of JKUAT, Cooperative University campus were killed when the bus they had hired to use for campaign rallies overturned.
Parents have expressed their angry saying the students are mature people and should have known better than to hang onto a moving vehicle.
One of the parents, Richard Amunga said that most students will want to do dangerous things while in a crowd just to get noticed.
‘‘It is unfortunate that we lost the two students but I am cautioning all university students to avoid engaging in group activities which they think are fun only to lead to a tragedy,’’ he said.
