The Nakuru government has encouraged entrepreneurs seeking to invest in green energy in the county saying it is a good region for production of green energy.
Governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Wednesday said Nakuru has all the backdrops required in setting up such an investment, and it welcomes any investor seeking to set up an investment in green energy.
“We encourage investments in our county and mostly in such sectors especially now when we are embracing technology such as green energy,” said the governor.
He spoke at after an investor in green energy production, John Colbert from USA expressed interest in setting up a firm in the county dealing in solar production.
Colbert is the chief executive of AEG International which has tapped into solar energy, water purification and industrial technology.
He will be attending an investor’s forum in the county after another one was held in Kiambu County last year.
Mbugua further said the county will support such investments as the residents too would like to tap into the usage of renewable sources of energy.
He also said such investments will help in bolstering many livelihoods as it is affordable and also environment friendly.
Last week, UK based Nanoovo Energy Firm also expressed interest in venturing into green energy production in the county.
