Kiambu county National Alliance (TNA) party coordinator Gladys Chania has urged Kenyans to embrace their diverse cultures and use them to promote peace.

Speaking during the Ruiru sub county cultural day in Ruiru on Wednesday, Chania said that cohesion and unity among Kenyans can be realised through culture.

The Kiambu TNA coordinator stated that Kenyans have so many different cultures which they should value and appreciate. She observed that through the promotion of culture, the country will achieve some of its development goals.

“Kenyans should embrace  their cultural values and appreciate their divergent cultures and also use them to promote peace,” said Chania.

Chania further asked the national and county governments to put in place measures that will promote cultural diversity. She noted that the governments can play a critical role in protecting and promoting cultures.

The Ruiru sub county cultural day whose theme was ‘My Culture My Identity’ is celebrated every year and brings different communities together where they showcase their various traditions and cultures.
