Kisii University has directed its continuing students to register online in their website following an official communication from the university on Wednesday.
All continuing students will be required to register online, as opposed to the earlier manual registration system. Through the online registration , students will indicate their basic details and indicate when they are in session.
A number of students welcomed the directive stating that the earlier manual method of registration was tiresome.
"It is a good thing the university has begun. We were subjected to long queues when registering for sessions but now we are relieved," said Tom Ouma, one of the students.
Other students also lauded the new system but however urged the university to aid those who are unable to access internet services.
"There are some amongst us who may not know or get a chance to register online but the university can also conduct the registration process both manually and online," suggested Stella Kirui, another student.
Kirui warned that the new process may encourage laziness in some students who would take advantage of registering online while still in their homes and thus make them report late for studies. It is expected that the process will ease congestion during registration.
