According to Josphat Munene a resident of Kaewa and an eye-witness, the students were being ferried by buses while publicly smoking bhang and were dressed inappropriately.
"We were surprised by 15 vehicles carrying university students who were dressed very inappropriately, drinking alcohol and smoking bhang without fearing anyone," he said.
The incident that occurred on Monday saw two injured after one of the buses carrying the students was involved in an accident that led to the cancellation of the tour.
The residents have applauded the police for cancelling their tour stating it would have caused more moral damage to the area children.
Mary Matei a mother of five stated it was a pitiful scenario of young girls and boys taken to school by their parents and instead engage in immoral behaviour.
