Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has accused the opposition of creating political anxiety in the country through claims that the Jubilee administration intends to rig the 2017 elections.

Waititu said that claims by Cord that the Jubilee government plans to rig the 2017 elections are reckless and could easily trigger anxiety and confusion among Kenyans.

Addressing residents when he toured Kabete town on Friday, Waititu blamed the opposition leaders further accusing them of trying to create tension in the country.

“The opposition is keen to cause anxiety and confusion among Kenyans through their rigging claims,” said Waititu, adding that the allegations against the government are malicious.

Waititu said that Cord was using the rigging claims as a strategy to woe voters and get sympathy of voters ahead of 2017 polls.

“The tactics being employed by the opposition are malicious and meant to cause divisions among Kenyans,” said the Kabete lawmaker.

Waititu urged the opposition to stop spreading propaganda about the Jubilee government and instead partner with it in promoting development.

The MP said that opposition’s propaganda seeks to derail the Jubilee development agenda.

On Monday, the opposition through Raila Odinga alleged that the Jubilee government was plotting to rig the 2017 elections.

The Jubilee government has however dismissed the opposition claims terming it as malicious.
