Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) director of political affairs has alleged death threats on his life and wants investigations into the matter expedited.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi said he had recorded a statement with the police at his rural home in Siaya County over the matter.

Wandayi said there were unknown people who were conspiring to harm him for reasons he did not understand.

He asked the police to speed up investigations into the matter and unravel the unknown people allegedly out to physically harm him.

The MP said that for the past one month, he has noticed that some unknown people have been trailing him.

“I have been trailed, I have been stalked and I realised some people were after my life forcing to make a report at the police station,” Wandayi claimed.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu City on Friday at Sunset Hotel, Wandayi said he has never made any joke about his life, adding that the threats are real.

He noted that in the past, most politicians have been eliminated but failed to air out threats on their lives in advance.

“History in Kenya is very clear how politicians have been killed, they have prior information but they fail to act on them. That is why I have stepped out to tell the world that some people are after my life,” he claimed.
