Following a second term of drought in the Kisii County region, the Kisii town residents now have to go deep to their pockets to purchase a 20-litre water jerrycan at a cost of Sh30 to Sh40 from Sh20.
This, however, is a big blash of smile to water vendors within the Kisii town and its environs, since they can now harvest big from the toubled residents as they are seen on the day to day basis with their handcarts fully loaded with water containers as they go around the town centre with their business without being shaken either by the moving vehicles or the number of people who move from place to place in the town.
One of the vendors told our writer that he owns three handcarts and one handcart makes Sh2,000 per day.
The water shortage has made many street boys to engage in the business since it is doing good to them.
