Speaking on Friday in Nyamira, Mr Sabwengi, who is also member of county assembly for Kiabonyoru ward, said the committee will look into the concerns before handing over to the assembly for discussion.

“The public participation is important since it gives the public an opportunity to air their views on the proposed budget before its adopted and implemented,” he said.

"We will look into their concerns because they are key stakeholders in the county. The draft will not go to the assembly before we scrutinise it and marry views of the common mwananchi."

However, he urged traders in the county to abide and pay taxes to help the county in implementation of various projects in the county.

"We are currently collecting too little which is impacting negatively in our county. Our projection is a collection of sh. 204 million but what we are collecting now is not even half."
