West Mugirango constituents have been asked to properly scrutinize politicians who are eyeing various elective posts in the region, to ensure they elect competent leaders in the next general election.
A member of Administrative Justice Organization Erastus Abuta advised them to ensure they elect people who can effectively represent them at the various levels.
He gave the example of a Member of Parliament’s post, saying it requires a person who can properly represent and champion for the interests of his or her people at the national level to effectively enhance their socio-economic growth.
Abuta said a leader needs to be someone who can be entrusted with public resources, hence the need for proper scrutiny to avert possible wastage should inept persons be elected into such offices.
“In the coming general election, ensure you vote wisely and choose leaders who you are sure will deliver once you vote them in,” he added.
He was speaking at Ramba SDA church during a fundraiser organized by the church on Tuesday where he also challenged those eyeing various posts in the general elections to first consult their conscience to establish whether they really fit in their positions of interest.
He added that a leader should be someone strong enough to stand out and champion for the interests of his people irrespective of their political challenges in the National Assembly.
