The Wiper Democratic Movement Party has endorsed its party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the presidency in the 2017 general election.
Addressing a Wiper leaders' party meeting at the Machakos Golf Club Hotel on Friday, the party's Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar said Musyoka has all that it takes to run as the Cord coalition's torch bearer.
Omar said the party will front Kalonzo as its sole candidate in the polls to ensure that his presidential bid becomes successful in the next polls.
Musyoka welcomed the endorsement though said they will sit down as cord principals and agree on who among them gets to the ballot for preside ncy.
The meeting was also attended by other principals to the cord coalition, leader of Orange Democratic Movement Raila Odinga and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula.
The three leaders said the coalition will not cramble before the next general elections as anticipated by some of the leaders from rival political coalitions.
Musyoka said Ukambani was the Wiper's stronghold and therefore other political movements that were emerging do not have any tangible impact.
Omar urged residents from Machakos County to stick to the party with Musyoka as the party leader, he said the former deputy president needed to be given adequate support to get to statehouse.
