According to a section of women, they have accused women leaders of sidelining them since they have not initiated any projects for them since they got into power.

A group of   traders at the Kisii Open Air market, led by Joyce Moraa, said they have been in the market before and after devolution but none of the women leaders have visited them to empower them about any projects.

''We have been here when we had no many seats of women as we have now but none of the women leaders who have visited us to empowered us,'' said Moraa.

They have accused them of sidelinig them without initiating projects that can help them in the society.

''How can they say that they are representing us while we have never seen them here? We expect them to help us in terms of delivery of services and that is the reason we voted for them,'' said Alice Gesare, one of the traders.

The women have advised the leaders to be like the first lady, Margret Kenyatta, who has initiated many programs that have helped and empowered women in the society.
