Mbugua Nakuru County sacked Chief of Staff Raymond Komen has accused Governor Kinuthia Mbugua of overstepping his mandate by sacking him.

Komen said Mbugua have no powers to sack him as the Chief of Staff as the governor is not the one who hired him.

Through his lawyer, Komen told Nakuru Employment and Labour court judge Richard Radido that he was hired by the county Public Service Board.

As such, Komen told the court, the governor overstepped her mandate by purporting to fire him.

Komen asked the court to stop the Nakuru County government from recruiting a new person to take over the position until his case is heard and determined. The case will be heard on March 3.
