Nakuru MCAs on Thursday passed the Nuisance Bill with amendments imposing a fine of Sh10,000 on those found, among other behaviours spitting, blowing nose without a handkerchief and smoking within the Central Business District (CBD).

The Bill sponsored by nominated Rongai MCA Gilian Jepkemoi Rotich has now been referred to the Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to be signed as a county by-law.

Already, Nakuru residents have started to familiarise themselves with proper habits that have been noted by the Bill to impose the punitive fine.

In the meantime, the handkerchief business has made a kill with most shops fitted with eye-catching varieties of handkerchiefs on display just to tap into the opportunity once the bill is affected into law by the governor.
