A local leader has called on Nakuru youth to venture start projects to earn income instead of idling and engaging in crime.

Kabatini Ward MCA Paul Thuo, said it is sad that young productive minds are using their energies on what will not add value in their lives.

"The government is committed to involving young people in development but a majority of you are pre-occupied in other things," he said.

He called on youth in his ward to apply for Uwezo and Youth Enterprise Development funds to help them start businesses and become self-reliant.

"Don't just sit there, do something because at the end of the day; you are the who will shape your own destiny," the MCA advised.

He spoke on Thursday after hosting a senior county government delegation led by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to inspect development projects in his ward.
