Kisii County has promised to pay all dues owed to youths who volunteered in a clean up exercise in the town.
Speaking on Tuesday at Storm Hotel Bridge during the launching of cleanness of the rivers and the town, governor James Ongwae said that his government is devoted to helping youths who have volunteered to serve the county.
"My government is going to pay all dues to these youths so that they can continue serving the county so that we can maintain cleanliness, " said Ongwae.
Ongwae also said that his county government has put measures in place which will help them during El Nino and promised to support youth groups.
“When we got information from meteorological department about El Nino, my government took steps to have measures in place which is now helping us,” said Ongwae.
He also warned residents against disposing wastes in rivers.
