Kisii County youths have challenged the county government to stop using experience as a qualification in awarding of tenders.

Speaking on Sunday at a Kisii hotel during a youth forum, the youths said that the county government has been asking for experience to give out tenders to the youth and women, which most of them do not have.

Kisii County Bunge Sacco president Denis Orioki said youths have not been guided on how to get the 30% of tenders as granted by the constitution.

Orioki challenged the county government to give them tenders so that they can have experience and guide youths on how to apply for those tenders.

“My appeal to the county government is to give us tenders so that we can have the experience that is needed,” said Orioki.

He also urged the county government to guide youths on how to fill the tender application forms.
