Youths from Kisii County have been advised to avoid being used by politicians who are out to satisfy their own selfish interests.
Speaking at Mwembe Estate today in Kisii, Prince Foundation youth leader, Albert Obiri, urged young people to be on the look out against politicians who use them to climb the social ladder only to ignore them after voting them in during elections.
''Youths form a majority of the Kenyan population and hence have the ability to change the political tilt in this country. However, the problem is that they are readily used by selfish politicians to achieve their interests,'' he noted.
Obiri faulted politicians from the Kisii community who are allegedly ferrying youths to various places of the country for political rallies and meet other politicians.
''When such politicians are elected, they forget about their election pledges. Please be watchful as the next election approaches,'' he cautioned.
The youth leader called upon his fellow youths to be vigilant and avoid being used as pawns by the selfish and greedy politicians.
