Time has come for Nakuru electorate to bring in fresh blood into leadership and send packing senior citizens clamoring for elective seats in the region, the Bahati MP has said.

Kimani Ngunjiri has articulated that there is a litany of leadership concerns raised by Nakuru county electorate which can be addressed only by letting young people take up the mantle.

Speaking in Bahati on Wednesday, the outspoken legislator noted that there are people who cling on to leadership even when they have surpassed retirement age.

“It is time to let our young people take up the mantle and also lead us. There are people who want to go back to parliament up to the time when they get to 70 years of age,” he said.

The MP further took issues with Nakuru county governor Kinuthia Mbugua for being among 28 other governors who have gone to court in resolve to have roads function fully devolved.

He said that the court case between the council of governors and the national government was likely to derail infrastructural development in the county.
