Francis Kariuki, commonly known as the 'twitting chief', has urged Nakuru youths to take up free training's offered by institutions within the county.

Chief Kariuki was addressing a group of fifty youths from Nakuru who graduated with certificates in entrepreneurship training offered by Digital Opportunity Trust in partnership with the American Embassy and the Kenya National Library Nakuru Branch.

Kariuki who was also the guest of honour at the colourful ceremony said he was surprised that despite the training being free, only few youths took the initiative of attending the classes.

''The problem with young people is lack of aggressiveness & creativity, dear friends I thank you and congratulate you for taking this course. The skills that you have learnt will help you one day.  When you go home, remind your friends that opportunities comes to those who look after them. Kindly inform them of such training,'' he said.

One of the participants and a graduand, Micheal Indeche, a Disk Jockey in one of the popular club within Nakuru, admitted that the free training was a blessing.

"I am planning to start a DJ-academy here in Nakuru from next year, I have learnt so much in this training, I am now equipped with the necessary knowledge for starting a business,'' he revealed.

The training is normally free to all members of public, no academic qualifications required.

Anyone interested can register and attend classes at the American corner located within the Kenya National Library.

According to Knight Ngano, one of the tutors, the training is offered to a group or a class which has a minimum of fifteen members.

"We are also flexible, we can arrange to have classes two days in a week, or any other time that the members are comfortable with," stated Ngano.
