Kisii University students have been challenged to sensitise villagers in Nyamira and Kisii Counties on the importance of peace to promote unity and development.
Addressing students on Tuesday at the university's main hall, Kisii University Deputy Vice Chancellor Mr Maurice Amutabi challenged the students to educate villagers to embrace peace to achieve development.
Mr Amutabi said peace is key to achieving development at the grassroots.
Mrs Callen Nyamwange, the gender chairperson at the university also urged the students to educate the locals on measures that can lead to economic prosperity in the area.
“University students should educate people in the society about peace because it is a key pillar to achieving development," said Mrs Nyamwange.
