Youth from Borabu constituency in Nyamira County have asked Constituency Development Fund officials to be transparent and accountable when disbursing monies.

The youth who spoke at the Borabu CDF office on Monday accused some officers of bias in disbursing the monies, especially the bursaries.

Led by Clinton Mwaniki, they have appealed to area MP Ben Momanyi to ensure that all needy youth benefit from the Fund.

“This project was started to help needy students and we urge our Member of Parliament to ensure that is the case,” said Mwaniki.

However, Ben Nyaberi who had represented the MP calmed the youths and told them that he would forward their grievances to the MP for action.

The youth claimed that some needy beneficiaries have been left out while individuals who are well known to the officials are given bursaries despite the fact that they are financially able.

“There are no documents to show how the money was dished out and who benefited from it. We need officers to be transparent and accountable so that we can benefit from it,” he said.
